shabbos lunch

Since I was invited to dinner at the last minute, I ate what I thought would be dinner for lunch.

Last week’s portion mentions offerings of barley mixed with olive oil (Lev. 23:13), lamb (23:12), and cattle (23:18).  So I had boiled barley with olive oil, a lamb kebab sandwich from Olympic Pita (not as good as at Bukharan places- too much fat), and frozen boiled manti (Bukharan beef dumplings, very nice though they were really meant to be steamed so a bit too doughy).   For dessert I had something surprisingly (for kosher for Passover food) delicious- Joyva maple flavored chocolate covered marshmallows (parve too!).
