shabbos dinner

This week’s portion begins with Jacob’s sending gifts to Esau, emphasizing that he has obtained “cattle, asses, sheep” (Gen. 32:6) and slaves.  Since asses and slaves aren’t kosher I thought I would have some lamb and beef, especially since I had lamb left over from last week (when I was invited to someone’s house about five hours before shabbos started, and had already cooked the lamb).

Plus I did some grocery shopping last week.  So there will be brown rice and beans with Jack’s brisket and lamb.  Also veg. cabbage rolls for no good reason.

Also for dessert: chocolate sorbet, marshmallows.
